On Eurotripping and Wisconsin summer

Hello all!

Well, as you can see I've taken a brief, or not so brief, hiatus from blogging. But now it's a new [school] year and thus time for a new look to my blog.

Before I dive in to life thus far in my new place of residence I wanted to reminisce about the amazing, dare I say, life-changing summer I've had.

As you know, after leaving my beloved (?) Valladolid I head up to Pamplona for a week to hang out and attend the famous San Fermín festival, better know as running of the bulls. Half way through the fiesta David and I "nos piramos" (took off) for Amsterdam. From there we travelled down through Belgium, France and into Italy, ending our three week journey in Rome. We flew back to Spain via Zaragoza, so our last night was there. Then we headed back to Pamplona, and I was off to Wisconsin for 4 weeks.

Our Eurotrip was... well, there are no words and so many words. Fun, crazy, scary, difficult, rewarding, exciting... The whole "backpacking through Europe" thing sounds cliché, and it is, but we truly made it our own unique experience. Instead of re-hashing our trip here, I want to point you to a video blog we made along the way. Well, since David refused to show his face to the camera, save for one or two cameo appearances, it's basically 20 plus videos of myself with he and I simultaneously narrating, which, since I am only mildly ego-centric I don't really dig. But it was a fun and cool way for us to document our journey. I'm currently in the process of transferring my travel journal (which I kept on my BlackBerry- thanks, technology!) into the blog.

When I finish I will post the link: HERE

So stay tuned!

At the beginning of August I made the trip across the pond into my parents welcoming arms. The truth is it really is always good to be home. And at the best time, because there is always something magical about summer in Wisconsin. I was home for 4 entire weeks and it honestly felt like 4 seconds. The good things is I got to spend some quality time with family and friends. As usual I didn't get to see everyone I wanted to see, but I saw most of my relatives and close friends and at the very least got to lay eyes on them and give them a hug. It was wonderful and a bit surreal to finally be seeing, face to face, the people I missed so much when I was gone.

But, now I'm off again. Siempre lo mismo. Saying good-bye, promising to stay in touch. I hope this year turns out to be everything I hope it will be.
